Evening Spotting at McGhee Tyson Airport

Evening stop at McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) to see what is flying. My son shot these photos while I worked the Video Camera. We were fortunate to catch the takeoff of a USAF KC-135R (57-1436) Stratotanker for a few Touch-n-Go passes before it departed for a rendezvous with a C-17 climbing out of Memphis, TN. The regularly scheduled FedEx A-300F (N733FD) flight came out and departed the opposite direction to the current traffic pattern. Unfortunately away from our position at the end of Runway 5. We left for home after the KC-135 departed. However, I spied a pair of USMC AH-1Z Zulu Cobra Gunships running up their engines and stopped to capture their departure from the airport into the evening sunset.
