Southern Museum of Flight

After a week long trip to Pensacola, Florida, I planned my drive back to Tennessee to pass through Birmingham, Alabama, which just happens to be the home of the Southern Museum of Flight. This museum was on my must visit list due to it having an iconic Lockheed A-12 Oxcart on display. Stopping to see this A-12 would complete my attempt to see four Blackbirds while on this one week trip.

I arrived at the museum shortly after it had closed for the day. Luckily, this museum has a large selection of aircraft on display outside of the museum that are visible day and night. The Southern Museum of Flight has several aircraft on display directly outside its museum. The majority of its outdoor aircraft are located two blocks away in their Memorial Airpark situated along the edge of the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. As it was late in the day and darkness was approaching, I made a quick dash around the museum and grounds to get photos of all the aircraft accessible from outside.
