P-51D Mustang “Alabama Rammer Jammer” - Commemorative Air Force RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit - Tri-Cities Airport
While on a visit to Tri-Cities Airport to chase a CASA CN-235 Persuader, I discovered that the Commemorative Air Force was making a week long visit to the airport with their Rise Above traveling exhibit. They were there by special request to give school children and the public a chance to discover the history of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Woman's Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) service during World War II.
I also discovered that they were bringing a P-51D Mustang to the event. Unfortunately the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s P-51C Mustang, named Tuskegee Airmen, was unavailable due to it undergoing maintenance. However, they had another Mustang coming to the event called the “Alabama Rammer Jammer”. This P-51 was one I had not had the opportunity to see before. So, I made sure to get back to TRI in time to catch it landing and returned several times during the week to get a multitude of shots of this P-51D Mustang on display with the Rise Above traveling exhibit.
